Carter Receives Honorable Mention By Capitol Inside’s “Best of the Legislature” List
June 23, 2011
(AUSTIN, TX) – Representative Stefani Carter (Dallas) was recognized as one of the topperforming freshman representatives during the 82nd Legislature
“I am honored to have been included on the list of top performers in the freshman class,”
said Carter. “I am proud of all I was able to accomplish during the regular session and sincerely
appreciate the recognition.”
The freshman class of the 82nd Legislature included more than 30 representatives, giving
Capitol Inside plenty of names from which to choose in creating a list of outstanding members.
Representative Carter successfully sent six bills to Governor Perry this session, all of which he
signed. Only seven freshmen passed more bills out of the Texas House than Carter. In addition
to her own bills, the Representative co-authored or co-sponsored some of the most significant
legislation to come out of the Capitol this year, including House Bill 15, better known as the
sonogram bill, and Senate Bill 14, known as the voter ID bill
“I learned a lot during my first session and am eager to get back to House District 102 so
I can meet with my constituents and begin preparing for next session. I look forward to doing
even more for the Dallas area and the people I serve.
