Carter Awarded Altrusa Int’l, Inc. Outstanding Women of Today…Builders of Tomorrow Award

(AUSTIN, TX) – Representative Stefani Carter (R-Dallas) today was awarded the Altrusa International, Inc. Outstanding Women of Today…Builders of Tomorrow Award in the Government Category.

Altrusa International, Inc. honors women each year with the Outstanding Women of Today…Builders of Tomorrow Award.  The award is a distinguished honor for women in leadership who exemplify determination and innovation and have made an outstanding contribution in their respective fields.  Nominees are recognized for making a difference for the future of women and leadership.

“I am humbled to have been nominated for such a distinguished honor,” said Carter.  “As one of only thirty-one women in the Texas House of Representatives, I know that I bear great responsibility in representing all women in our state government.  I will not let them down.”

Altrusa International, Inc. has a rich history of recognizing women leaders in civic organizations dating back to its founding in 1917.  Candidates who are nominated for this particular award must display exceptional dedication, leadership, and vision in their chosen fields and must exhibit an altruistic spirit in her work and community.

Stefani Carter is serving her first term representing House District 102, which includes parts of Dallas, Richardson, and Garland.  She is a native of the Dallas area and a former prosecutor.
